Schrödinger’s Brother
A young woman must call 911 for help because she can’t tell if her brother
is dead … or taking a nap.
About the film
“Schrödinger's Brother" is a dark comedy portraying a phone call between an emergency operator and a frazzled caller who believes her brother may (or may not) have died. Portrayed in a single, long, unbroken take, she and the operator experience a whirlwind of emotions as they attempt to wrestle with what is either a sudden tragedy or a comedic misunderstanding.
In the course of trying to determine whether her brother is asleep or dead, the two characters run through a range of topics that includes family, age, trauma, fear of loss, the fragility of childhood pets, and the nature of reality itself. This surreal dramatic comedy, grounded by a human performance from director and writer Elizabeth Perla, will captivate audiences and stay with them long after the credits roll.
